Rasheq Rahman

Rasheq Rahman is currently a Senior Advisor at IBM where he provides market intelligence and opportunity sizing for the firm's multi-billion-dollar Federal IT business. He was previously a fellow at the Virginia Tech Advanced Research Institute (ARI) in Arlington, Virginia. During his time at ARI, he was involved in connecting ARI research in smart grid, renewable energy, and risk management to global academic institutions, US government agencies, and corporate partners. 

Previously Mr. Rahman was a founding Vice President of the Insurance Derivatives business at KBC Financial Products in New York where he managed operational teams to build a multi-billion-dollar structured lending business and closed life insurance transactions exceeding US $150 million. While at KBC, he also led strategic projects for the firm’s Structured Credit and Convertible Bond trading desks. Mr. Rahman began his career on Wall Street as a data analyst in the Fixed Income division at Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Rahman is active in several professional organizations and affinity groups. He was the founding president of the Network of Young Bangladeshi American Professionals (NYBAP), the first-of-its-kind, non-profit leadership development organization for Bangladeshi Americans which has engaged professionals and the Government of Bangladesh in a dialogue on harnessing the Bangladeshi diaspora in economic development. He also serves the Washington DC chapter coordinator for the Association of Asian American Yale Alumni (AAAYA).

Mr. Rahman has an MBA from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Chicago.
