The growing abundance of domestic shale gas has placed the United States on a trajectory towards energy surplus. This has given rise to multiple projects to convert this resource into liquefied natural gas (LNG) for export to foreign markets, with much destined for Asia. This opportunity presents new questions such as the cost and business factors that make U.S. LNG competitive in global markets and the potential geostrategic consequences of this resource for the economies and countries across Asia.
Asian Americans in Energy, the Environment and Commerce (AE2C) will host a roundtable discussion surrounding these questions and others in its first event of the 2013-14 series --
Energy and the Environment in the U.S. and Asia: What’s Next?
