On May 24, 2011, the first official organizational meeting of Asian Americans in Energy, the Environment, and Commerce (AE2C) was convened, in Washington, D.C., at the offices of the Edison Electric Institute, followed by a reception and dinner at the Army and Navy Club. This meeting drew over 25 participants from all over the United States (as well as from Hong Kong). The purpose was to finalize the organization’s charter and bylaws, and to elect officers. The following members were elected to lead the organization:
At the dinner, the attendees heard remarks from Colin Tam, Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Vision Group, Limited, a Hong Kong-headquartered global energy investment fund. Mr. Tam discussed the competition between the Peoples Republic of China and the United States in advanced energy technologies.
